ABSTRACT
This study aims to describe the socialization conducted by the Prevention and
Handling of Violence in Higher Education Task Force (Satgas PPKPT) of
Universitas Sumatera Selatan in shaping students' perceptions of sexual violence
within the campus environment. This study employed a descriptive qualitative
method with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation.
The results indicate that the socialization carried out by Satgas PPKPT plays an
important role in shaping students' perceptions of sexual violence on campus.
Through the socialization activities, students gained an understanding of the
forms of sexual violence, the importance of consent, prevention efforts, and the
available reporting mechanisms. The findings also show that students were able
to absorb, understand, and positively evaluate the information delivered during
the socialization process. The socialization was supported by credible
communicators, clear messages, and the use of supporting media that facilitated
students' understanding of the material presented. In conclusion, the socialization
conducted by Satgas PPKPT contributes to increasing students' knowledge,
understanding, and awareness regarding the prevention of sexual violence in the
campus environment.
